Welcome to my first attempt at blogging!

Hopefully, you will find my writing of some interest. We are on the very brink of Fall 2010...rain has been abundant the last two weeks and we're into reseeding lawns, planting bulbs and harvesting the last of summer's produce here in Missouri. Rivers are up and the lakes have reached their high-water marks. Boats and fishermen/women are flocking to the two nearby lakes. This photo was taken from the dam at Lake Jacomo last year; the trees have not quite reached this point this year, but it won't be long now.

Falling leaves, acorns galore;
in sharing their bounty
mighty oaks speak to us.
Squirrels scamper
gathering winter's store
hiding food, gathering more!
Winds shift from south to west
then to the north and east,
warning of frost approaching
almost forgetting summer's heat!
Autumn is upon us, colorfully sure,
decorating earths corners in a
palette of burnt orange and amber:
September, October, then November!

It's 2011 Already!

I'd almost forgotten that I began a blog, it's been so long since I posted it.  We have been busy with end-of-year medical issues and Maurice's eye surgery went off without a hitch this time, thankfully!

We celebrated Christmas with children and grandchildren and will soon be doing the same for a 14 year old's birthday.  Time seems to get away from us, all too quickly.

Our next big plans are to do a once-in-a-lifetime road trip to the west coast.  So we purchased a new crossover automobile in December.  It's large enough & comfortable enough to stow our necessities and still have sufficient room to stretch out our legs.  With Maurice's eyes being in better shape, I won't have to do all the driving this trip!  YEA!!!
Neither of us is getting any younger and we're beginning to feel our age.
